AussiePeople has indirectly been doing press releases for people and companies for nearly thirty years, however a lot of the time it was done indirectly via a number of different guises, sometimes news items on a website other time via targeted advertorials and so forth. Since the recent expansion of AussiePeople, a new area has been added because it now constitutes more time than previously which is our PRESS section.
Called AussiePeople Press, it is simply a new arm of the business that writes and promotes press releases worldwide and fits in very nicely with other website promotion techniques already in place. As of now, a client can have a dedicated press release and subsequent follow up articles releases to the world’s media at a reasonable cost, whether or not you have a website.
The press releases are written for you and can be on any newsworthy topic, they must of course fall under the guidelines of news and not be an advertisement. Full blown advertisements can be arranged but they will not be picked up by the reputable news services worldwide, who really do moderate everything they run with. AussiePeople have been doing this type of writing for clients for generations now, but it was always considered content for a specific webpage serving an exacting mission.
AussiePeople have created the Press section because more and more athletes need to put out press releases that are not advertisements, not only athletes and sports bodies but many other types of small to medium business are now finding they need a story put out in the real world via the virtual medium. Of course the lines have blurred these days and the real and virtual are non-distinguishable, so if effect more and more people and business need to make press releases whereas years ago only elite athletes need such tools to promote themselves.
As an example AussiePeople have half a dozen horse racing trainers and bloodstock agents as customers and it’s one thing to advertise new stock to the industry they are part of, but what is becoming increasingly more apparent is that these agents need to make contact with ‘new blood’ i.e. people outside their industry, and the only way to do that is by working the world’s press in general.
Recently one AussiePeople client Dick Caine had a press release written for him targeting the current Olympic fever, by advertising the fact that Dawn Fraser, one of Australia’s greatest ever Olympians, recently obtained a share in one of Dick Caine’s horses. This was a very clever and timely play on people’s emotions right in the middle of the current Olympic Games. It’s this sort of press release that AussiePeople is doing for its clients, read the actual press release here: http://aussiepeople.newsvine.com/_news/2008/08/19/1761105-dawn-fraser-joins-the-dick-caine-team?category=sports
So if you are an existing AussiePeople customer or considering becoming one or just need a press release and already have your own website, contact the team at AussiePeople via the ‘Contact Us’ page on the main website at: http://www.aussiepeople.com.au/

Content Management Systems Now Online
AussiePeople are proud to announce they have expanded their website operations to include fully interactive websites, more commonly referred to as Content Management Systems (CMS). These systems permit the adding, deleting and editing of webpage’s by the user without any previous knowledge of computer programming whatsoever.
If you can type out an e-mail then you can manage your own content in our AussiePeople CMS websites. We currently have 17 themes straight out of the box, which means there are different layouts from the point of view of size and position of the header, footer, links menu and content sections.
AussiePeople have teamed up with Tailwag Industries to create the new content systems and this means that you can have a fully compliant website, deployed and populated within a day and the best part is the price, we have been able to keep costs way down to an all time low, because we can create more sites in less time and because we are no longer bogged down with customers minor maintenance updates. From now on, you the customer will make your own changes, instantly from an computer on Earth that has an internet connection.
Times certainly have changed over the years, I recall making a site for a firm of lawyers about 10 years ago and the entire process took eight months, today I can do exactly the same thing in under two hours, there really is something to be said for progress and in terms of website development, all progress is a good thing.
The regular AussiePeople website has two pages of samples now, one for traditional websites and one for CMS websites, please take a look:
Traditional: http://www.aussiepeople.com.au/links.aspx
CMS: http://www.aussiepeople.com.au/CMS.aspx
We also made a special website just for sports orientated websites, this is a CMS site and has a basketball theme however it must be said that any sport can be adapted, please take a look, there are some fabulous features in this site and the entire sites is cheaper than business cards: http://tailwag.info/
Okay, that’s it for now, we certainly are excited about the future and welcome all the new clients who have recently joined AussiePeople, companies like Ultimate Fighting Arts: http://www.ufa4u.com/ Silver Cornices: http://www.silvercornices.com/ Marty Herbert: http://www.martyherbert.com/ Chupina Bloodstock: http://www.chupinabloodstock.com/ Dick Caine Harness: http://www.dickcaine.com/Harness.aspx and many others.

World Championships start today
AussiePeople are proud to announce that we are major co-sponsors of the Australian team contesting the WNSO World championships in Ontario, Canada which starts today and lasts three days. What is termed the AussiePeople/ANB 2008 World Discovery Tour has generated a lot of interest and a total team of ten Australians will participate in the world championships. Next weekend the tour travels to Miami, Florida where the MuscleMania Universe Weekend begins and for the second time in two weeks the powerful Australian team will take on the world’s best natural bodybuilders. Both championships are fully drug tested events and fall in line with the ethical beliefs of both AussiePeople and the leading Australian bodybuilding federation, the ANB. AussiePeople CEO Ron Ziemiecki in a telephone hook-up with Robert Powell (ANB President) were both elated that the plan they hatched 24 months ago about being an impartial and open federation has overwhelmingly worked and that Australians are able to move seamlessly between different federations in different continents.

This time the ANB Sydney bodybuilding championships had a record 123 competitors, this time filling up and selling out at the Castle Hill RSL Club, and once again AussiePeople sponsored the event. It seems that any sporting event AussiePeople teams up with gets the kiss of success and every post is a winner recently. AussiePeople is currently negotiating sponsorship deals with representatives of the amateur boxing fraternity and also the martial arts world especially from the referees association. So stay tuned and watch how AussiePeople is giving something back to the sports community.

AussiePeople sponsor natural bodybuilding
AussiePeople sponsored the 2008 South Coast Natural Bodybuilding Championships last Sunday held in Wollongong, which was an Australian regional record for competitors with 72 young Australian men and women seen at their absolute best. As part of the overall sponsorship package of Bodybuilding throughout Australia, AussiePeople will give all competitors free entry onto the Athlete Registry which could lead to other sponsorships and work opportunities.
AussiePeople CEO and Founder Ron Ziemiecki attended the competition on behalf of AussiePeople and was thoroughly delighted with the treatment of the ANB officials, competitors and audience who all appreciated his attendance. AussiePeople are once again sponsoring the Sydney Natural Bodybuilding Championships this coming weekend to be held at Castle Hill RSL Club.

Athlete Registry is growing
The AussiePeople Athlete Registry is growing and we are very excited about it. Several years ago we did the same thing and ended up with tens of thousands of athletes from 114 sports in total, we had to stop in the end because the technology we were using at the time meant all the work was being done manually by one person and it was totally un-funded and simply ended up being too large a project.
At the time we thought that the Government should have been doing it and to some degree we see in the intervening years that they have gone part of the way towards it. Still however there is a glaring problem, which we all know and recognize and that is that only the top 5 or 6 sports get any publicity at all and the greater majority of other sports get very little or usually only negative publicity.
So once again AussiePeople is going to do the Athlete Registry but this time using a different schema and far more friendly technology. This time around we are going to invite and athlete from any sport (no restrictions) only four simply questions, Name, Sport, Gender, E-mail.
These 4 bits of information are supplied in a few seconds on a submission form on the AussiePeople website and reproduced on a Registry Listing page, a very simple, easy and neat exchange of information. On a secondary level, AussiePeople will conduct a range of virtual and real world promotional activities to draw attention to the Registry and any person, company, agency or entity can contact the athlete and make a pitch to them.
If the person contacting an athlete is a spammer or a creep, the athlete simply adds them to their junk e-mail list and effectively bars them. At all times the athlete has the control over whether to respond to an e-mail enquiry or not. Athletes are urged to check out via other non-online sources the bona fides of the person making the overture and should take extreme caution about giving out private information.
If the pitch is a genuine one and leads to work or sponsorships, then that is 100% totally between the person or company and the athlete, the e-mails go direct from the person sending the e-mail to the athlete recipient, no copy of the e-mail goes to or via AussiePeople, this means that AussiePeople are 100% genuine in promoting Australia’s athletes and wants nothing for it whatsoever. Whatever correspondence is done privately by other people remains their business entirely.
People might be wondering what’s in it for AussiePeople and say there is no such thing as a free lunch and that is quite true and yes we are a corporate entity ourselves and need to do business to survive like any company. We believe that a percentage of the people we help might take up some of our other corporate offers like and upgrade to a ‘Members Profile’ or a full website or the hosting of their existing website on our servers.
Therefore our form of advertising and attracting possible clients is via a mutually rewarding method of giving away a free Registry Listing and promoting both the athletes themselves and our web design and hosting business at the same time. This is not rocket science, we believe that some of the people will like what we are doing and seeing there is usually little to differentiate one web design company from another, that they will elect to get their other services from us, it’s a sort of the devil you know mentality.
So athletes of Australia unite, jump in a sign up, and spread the word to your friends, together we can grow stronger and when we reach critical mass with our members, we will be able to force better deals for all.
